SouthEastern Media Digital Billboard Management

Are you interested in increasing the monthly cashflow and maximizing the value of your digital billboard? SouthEastern Media offers digital billboard management services throughout the U.S. Check out these FAQ’s below for more information about how it works!

  1. What accountability measures do you have in place to make sure the sign owner is getting the correct payment each month? We have a shared Google sheet with the sign owner that updates as soon as we add a new advertising client. The sheet will list each client advertising an how much they’re paying. The sign owner can verify that the ad ran for the contracted amount of time by pulling a POP report, and they also have access to the signed advertising contracts.

  2. How do you sell the ads on signs in states across the country? 75% of our advertising clients are local businesses. We’ll contact local businesses in the area via email, phone, video message, and direct response advertisements to sell digital billboard advertisements.

  3. What if SouthEastern is managing the entire billboard but a local advertiser contacts the sign owner directly and wants to place an advertisement through the sign company that owns the sign? This will save the sign owner from having to pay any commission. One of the benefits of SouthEastern managing the entire billboard is the sign owner won’t have his/her personal time, or an employees time, involved in ad contracts, graphic design, changing ads, sending invoices, collecting payments, etc. We’ve found that most sign owners would rather receive one bulk deposit each month and be completely hands off versus having their personal time involved in the ad sales process. If we’re managing the entire billboard, the sign owner will refer the potential client to SouthEastern and we’ll complete the sell and manage the advertisement. However, if you would like to be involved, we can certainly manage only a portion of the billboard.

  4. What if a advertising client signs the ad contract but doesn’t pay? Thankfully this doesn’t happen often but if it does happen we’ll try to collect payment by every reasonable avenue. Once we receive an overdue payment, the transaction will be notated on the the Google sheet and included in the next scheduled deposit. We try to collect payment up front via credit card. In some instances, (large businesses, marketing firms, etc.) we’ll need to submit a invoice with a PO number. Our standard payment terms, via paper check, are 30 days. If we haven’t received payment within 30 days, we’ll remove their advertisement from the billboard. In some cases, marketing companies request 90 days to make a payment. We’ll consult with the sign owner if this is okay before signing the ad contract.

  5. When exactly will the sign owner be paid? We typically invoice on the first business day of each month. If we have the clients credit card info on file, we’ll charge their card. If they’re paying via check, they have 30 days to make a payment. Once the 30 days is up and all of the proceeds for that month have been collected, we have until the fifteenth of the following month to deposit the funds into the sign owner’s account. Typically the sign owner will receive the funds much earlier, by the fourth or fifth of the following month, but for sign owners that have requested a paper check be mailed, it could take until the 15th to arrive.

  6. How is SouthEastern’s Digital Billboard Management different from a service like Blip or Fliphound? Blip or Fliphound rely on clients to sign themselves up on their website without any education or knowledge of how billboard advertising works. In most cases, these clients will be very short term, low budget, and have high expectations which causes a high turnover rate. When the ad doesn’t have the ROI they were expecting, they won’t renew. SouthEastern focuses on branding local businesses with ad budgets that are sustainable for a longer period of time. We reach out to them and educate the decision maker on the advantages of billboard advertising versus waiting from them to sign up on our website.
